Normal Budget

Normal is set to make a 16 percent drop in town spending in the town's new $102 million budget proposal, which is down $20 million from the year before. Cuts include 24 employees and a big subsidy for trash disposal fees.  Other cuts include the Orlando Avenue police substation, the town's housing rehabilitation program and the Bone grant for historic homes.  Along with some cuts from the town, there will be increases for you for your sewer fees and monthly water bills.  Ending the trash subsidy will mean gradually higher bills for for your trash collection.
