Labor Day 2017 Safer On Illinois Roads

A lot of people apparently listened this year when the Illinois State Police said buckle up, slow down, and don't drink and drive. State Police Director Leo Schmitz announced yesterday that traffic deaths on the roads this Labor Day weekend were down. Schmitz said five people died on Illinois roads over the Labor Day holiday. That's down from 19 last year. Troopers were busy however, the State Police issued just under seven thousand tickets between Friday and Monday of the long holiday weekend.
