The new Portillos in Normal is going to get almost two-million dollars in taxpayer money to move to town. Normal city manager Mark Peterson says Portillos simply wouldn't have come to Normal if not for an incentive package to give them one-point-eight million dollars in sales taxes. The town yesterday announced Portillos will build on the old Motel Six site on Landmark drive, across Veterans Parkway from the WalMart in Normal. Portillos managers hope to break ground in the spring and open sometime in the summer.
