No State Budget Deal

Discussion between Governor Bruce Rauner and Illinois' legislative leaders regarding a new budget for the state could go into the weekend, even though legislators have concluded their fall veto session.  That's what state Senate President John Cullerton told fellow senators Thursday.  A stopgap budget passed over the summer expires at the end of the year.  Both Cullerton and House Speaker Michael Madigan could call legislators back for a special session before the end of the year.
