Brian Petersen, 25, the Bloomington man accused of fatally
stabbing his parents in their home in July has been ruled unfit to stand trial.
Earlier Friday. Petersen pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder that
accuse him of killing his parents, Bruce and Nancy Petersen. A court order was
entered based on a psychiatric evaluation by Springfield psychiatrist to
determine if Petersen was mentally fit to stand trial. Judge Freitag said that based
on the report, there was sufficient reason to find Petersen unfit.
