46 Cases Of Zika Virus Confirmed In Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health says there are 46 confirmed cases of the Zika virus in the state.  Of those, three are pregnant women.  All of the cases are people who contracted the illness after traveling to Zika-affected areas.  The virus is spread to people through mosquito bites and it has been linked to severe birth defects in infants born to infected women.
