Peoria Murder Trial Delayed Because Illinois Can't Afford Gas Money

Prosecutors in Peoria are delaying one of their murder trials because the state of Illinois doesn't have enough gas money.  The Peoria County State's Attorney's Office yesterday said it could not move forward with Samuel Clay Jr.'s trial for the murder of a 14-year-old back in 2015, because Illinois' Department of Corrections couldn't pay for the gas to get a witness to the trial.  Prosecutors say prison managers told them they may have the money to buy gas closer to the end of the month.
