Normal Approves Budget

The Normal City Council approved it's spending plan Monday night that features both budget cuts to programs and fee hikes for services such as water, sewer and trash collection starting April 1.There is something new: the town now will send you a monthly water bill. The town currently bills water, and other services, every two months.It comes at an annual cost of  $136,000 which is also generating a job. Ironically, that motion passed just minutes after 24 other town positions were eliminated.
