Chicago Murders Lower Than 2016, But Still High

Chicago ended 2017 with nearly 100 fewer murders than the year before, but the city saw more murder than most other U.S. cities. Chicago Police say just over 660 people were killed in the city in 2017. That's down nearly 100 killings from 2016. But over 600 murders puts Chicago far ahead of cities like New York and Los Angeles which saw under 300 murders each.
