Excelon Clinton Offline For Repairs

Operators removed Clinton Power Station from service Saturday afternoon to repair an electrical component outside the plant. While the unit is offline, technicians will inspect and fully test the electrical system before returning the unit to service. Clinton Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton. The plant produces 1,069 megawatts at full power – enough electricity to power about 1 million typical homes.
