Governor Rauner Changes School Funding Plan, Sends Back To Lawmakers

It's now up to Illinois lawmakers if the state's schools open on time. Governor Bruce Rauner yesterday changed the Democratic plan to pay for schools, he stripped out money for Chicago teacher pensions and a block grant for the city's school. Top statehouse Democrats yesterday asked for a few more days to negotiate, but seemed unwilling to accept the governor's request for spending reforms and a new scholarship plan.
