Co-defendant: Victim's Daughter Carried Out Plan to Murder Her

22-year-old Christine Roush, daughter of Teresa Ann Poehlman of East Peoria, planned and carried out the stabbing death of her biological mother in Funk’s Grove, according to co-defendant 20-year-old Matthew Isbell.

In part of a probable cause statement released Saturday provided to a judge by McLean County State's Attorney Jason Chambers, Isbell admitted to police that he witnessed the murder.

Police are searching for a third person involved.

Roush and Isbell, both of Washington, were arrested Friday and each charged with two counts of murder.

Authorities say Poehlman likely died of blood loss related to the stabbing.
