
It now looks like lawmakers will approve a multi-billion dollar package that will keep the Quad Cities' nuclear plant open, in exchange for 235-million dollars a year in 'green energy' credits. Exelon is also promising to spend millions on energy efficiency. But the proposal allows the utility to charge ComEd customers more and will spike the price of power for the state's manufacturers. Governor Rauner signaled his support for the plan last night. Lawmakers are scheduled to vote on the plan today.
