The University of Illinois is seeking a multiyear budget arrangement with the state. The "Champaign News-Gazette" reports the university plans to announce legislation next week that would provide five years of guaranteed funding in exchange for meeting certain educational benchmarks. UI President Tim Killeen said this week that the university has lost more than 750-million-dollars in state funding over the last two years.
