Normal Approves $1.42 Million Rail Crossing Study

Normal town council voted 5-0 to pay about $1.42 million for a study to explore options for a rail crossing at Uptown Station after hearing some opposition to the idea from 3 citizens. The two-year study will recommend to the town what kind of crossing it should build, if any, and how much it will cost. Possible options include an overpass, underpass and bridge. An underpass would be completed three to five years from now.
