Legislation to raise the legal purchasing age of tobacco and electronic cigarette products from 18 to 21 passed the Illinois Senate Wednesday by a vote of 32-22-2. The bill fell five votes shy of passage last Thursday, but Sen. John Mulroe, D-Chicago, the bill’s sponsor, was able to get a second vote.
