You might have to wait until you are old enough
to drink before you can buy your smokes. Legislation to raise the legal
purchasing age of tobacco and electronic cigarette products from 18 to 21
passed the Illinois Senate Wednesday by a vote of 32-22-2. The bill fell five
votes shy of passage last Thursday, but Sen. John Mulroe, D-Chicago, the bill’s
sponsor, was able to get a second vote.
