Dozens of advocates filled the council chambers to capacity Monday to encourage the council to pass a Welcoming City Ordinance. The ordinance would prohibit city police from cooperating with the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency without a judicial warrant. Mayor Renner supports the proposal. The council will hold a special meeting in December to discuss a possible ordinance.
